By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain what menstruation is and how the menstrual cycle works
  • Recognise the range of physical, emotional and cognitive symptoms that can occur throughout the menstrual cycle
  • Identify common menstrual health conditions, including endometriosis, PCOS, PMDD, fibroids, adenomyosis, dysmenorrhea and menorrhagia
  • Describe how menstrual health symptoms can affect everyday working life, including concentration, confidence, productivity and attendance
  • Understand how menstrual health can intersect with fertility challenges and pregnancy loss
  • Apply self-advocacy techniques to identify personal needs and communicate them effectively at work
  • Provide appropriate, practical support to colleagues and act as a positive menstrual health ally
