Getting your training CPD accredited shouldn’t feel like a black box. Here’s exactly what happens when you apply to Trusted CPD – from your first submission to the accreditation you receive at the end.
We’ve designed our process to be thorough without being bureaucratic, and transparent without cutting corners. Every application is reviewed by a qualified human assessor against a consistent set of criteria, so you know exactly what we’re looking for and why decisions are made.
Everything starts with your application. You’ll submit your course or training programme through our online application form, along with supporting materials that give our assessors a clear picture of what you deliver and how.
Depending on your delivery format, this typically includes:
Not sure exactly what to include? Our application form guides you through each section, and our team is available to answer questions before you submit.
Once your application is received, it’s assigned to one of our qualified assessors. Every assessor on our panel has professional experience in learning design, training delivery, or a relevant sector specialism – so they understand what good CPD looks like in practice, not just in theory.
Your application is reviewed against eight core criteria:
Are they clear, specific, and measurable?
Is the course logically sequenced?
Is the format appropriate for the intended audience and learning outcomes?
Are the people delivering the training suitably qualified?
Is the claimed learning time accurate and justified?
Is there a mechanism to verify learning has taken place?
Are participants given resources that support and reinforce learning?
Does the programme include a way to gather and act on learner feedback?
We apply the same criteria to every application, regardless of delivery format. This consistency is what makes a Trusted CPD accreditation meaningful.
Our target review time is 5-10 working days from receipt of a complete application.
Your assessor makes one of three decisions:
Accredited – Your application meets our criteria. You’ll receive written confirmation along with your accreditation certificate and details of what you’re entitled to use.
Accredited with conditions – Your application is broadly strong, but one or more elements need addressing before full accreditation is granted. We’ll tell you precisely what needs to change and give you the opportunity to resubmit without paying an additional fee.
Not accredited – Your application doesn’t meet our criteria at this stage. We’ll provide written feedback explaining why, with clear guidance on what would need to change before you reapply.
We don’t issue vague rejections. If a decision goes against you, you’ll know the specific reason and have a clear path forward.
Not satisfied with a decision? We have a straightforward appeals process. If you believe an assessment has been made in error, you can request a review from a second assessor.
Once accredited, you’ll receive everything you need to promote your status with confidence:
Specific to the course or programme assessed, showing the accreditation period and the number of CPD hours awarded.
Licensed for use in your marketing materials, course listings, and communications, with clear usage guidelines.
Making your accredited courses discoverable to professionals and organisations searching for CPD-compliant training.
The ability to issue CPD points to participants who complete your accredited programme.
Accreditation is granted for a fixed term of 12 months. Before it expires, you’ll be invited to renew – giving you the opportunity to update your materials and ensure your course continues to meet the standard.
In a crowded and rapidly evolving training landscape, demonstrating the quality and integrity of your learning programmes is more important than ever.
Each programme is assessed individually on its own merits. If you run multiple courses, each one goes through the same process - this ensures that every course carrying our mark has genuinely earned it.
When your accreditation period ends, renewal involves a review of any changes you've made to the programme. If nothing has changed, the process is straightforward. If the course has evolved significantly, we review the updated version properly.
Whether you deliver compliance training, professional skills, leadership development, or specialist technical content, our criteria apply equally.
We don't weight applications in favour of any particular sector or professional body.
